the ceremony

The first Saturday in June begins the start of the new cruising year.  The highlight is Change of Watch where all Bridge officers move up the "Chairs".   This day is all about the incoming Commodore. The current Commodore is relieved of his/her watch and the incoming Commodore is sworn in.  We take many pictures, have a ceremony, and a toast.  Then all members and officers board a flotilla of 20-30 boats forming a parade on Lake Washington which concludes with a salute to the new Commodore.  Then we party!!   There is a theme, fun food and music.
